South Woodham Ferrers Sports Facilities

Sports minded people of all ages are very well catered for in the town. The local secondary school, William de Ferrers, has superb facilities that are available to the community outside school hours as part of a Sports/Leisure Centre and playing fields. The council runs special classes and clubs for children during the school holidays. There is also a private health club at Club Woodham, a running club, a martial arts club and numerous private health and fitness classes are run in various venues around the town.  At the time of writing, Boogie Bounce is popular with adults and children, Tai Chi keeps the older generation moving, and there are lots of other ways of enjoying exercise in the town for all ages.

Aqua aerobics is another popular and gentle way of improving mobility. Aqua aerobics classes are heldin the South Woodham swimming pool several times per week.CM3 5JU

The Woodham Ferrers Swimming Club is for both adults and children and runs evening sessions in the swimming pool.

Fishing is a popular activity near South Woodham Ferrers

Although there are no lakes within the town (the only water is the River Crouch where people take children crabbing) there are fishing lakes a short drive away.
