How to be kind to the postman during the pandemic

Postmen and women we are classed as keyworkers during the Coronavirus pandemic. They will be carrying ou an essential service to ensure that you still receive communication and any posted parcels.

The CWU offered for postal workers to become an emergency service for the public. If conditions deteriorate your postman could be delivering essential healthcare products, food and even medication.

What they would like the public to do to safeguard postal workers

2. If you see a postman coming towards your door please (DO NOT OPEN YOUR DOOR). They will sign your parcels and letters for you.

They will leave the parcel, food or medication on your doorstep and then knock. Give the postman enough time to step away from the door.

3. If you are already outside your house, go inside or step away 2 metres from the postman. Please do not approach them.

If they tell you to stop and back off or close your door, don't feel offended. They are only trying to help protect you from this virus.
